Toyota Introduces Aqua Hybrid Battery Technology
The new Toyota Aqua, a hybrid car made by the Japanese automaker, was released in 2007. It is powered by a Bipolar nickel-hydrogen battery known for its efficiency. The new bipolar nickel-hydrogen battery pack is less bulky, lighter, and more compact than its predecessor. It also allows for a 1.4 times increase in the number of cells in the same space. A lower internal resistance can generate higher currents, resulting in more power.

Aside from the increased output, the new Aqua also uses a novel design to increase the battery’s capacity. Each module is 20mm comprehensive. This makes the battery pack fit 1.4 times more cells in the same space.
The Toyota Aqua is available in three grades. Each grade is based on a different battery capacity.
